One man's take on the short bow as a survival system. The author makes reference to "The (Traditional) Bowyer's Bible" as his source for constructing a short bow. https://www.3riversarchery.com/traditional-bowyers-bible-complete-set-of-books.html Some of the volumes are available (apparently) as 'free' .pdf downloads from scibd and other places.
Good survival information, liked the use of the knife and axe in the construction as well. Well worth watching the bow build for axe and drying tips as well as tillering hints. Good bow, no, one that could be built quick with knife and hatchet and feed you in an emergency, yes. Kind of like difference between rice and corn meal for survival vs freeze dried steaks, steaks are nice, but corn meal and rice are easy to carry, cheap, and will keep you alive. Good reason to have a few broad heads and a couple bow strings in your emergency bug out bag, and the strings could also be used for snares. Fits in well with Bishop's concepts of simple survival tips that work and are worth learning before TSHTF. Nice to make your mistakes when you can go home, have a good meal, and go to sleep in a warm bed rather than starving to death in the cold wet world of reality after things fall apart.
What's a bow, without arrows?...here's a a youtube clip of Fundabi Dozi's take on how to make arrows 'old school' style.
