A hobo stove is an excellent way to cook in the bush if you want a small controlled but intense fire to cook or boil water on.
All you need is a tin and two tent pegs.
Cut a small square hole in the tin and leave a lip of about an inch and a half to keep the embers in.
Drill some holes at the top of the tin to take the tent pegs which will act as the pot rest when you place the pots on top of the tin.
I have placed them crossways as you can see but have now changed them to run side by side for better balance.
The stove can be kept going simply by feeding small sticks into the hole in the tin.
Easy to set up, easy to control and easy to clean up when you leave.
