The Obama administration knows that they can’t get the American public to support gun control — so they’re going about it in a way that will make you furious. They’re using the Department of Homeland Security, claiming that it’s an issue of national security.

Barack Obama’s Homeland Security chief Jeh Johnson uttered words that should send a cold chill up the spines of Second Amendment supporting Americans.

The agency is looking to soon enter the gun control business, a diversion into domestic enforcement for an agency tasked with fighting terrorism.

Speaking about the Orlando massacre on a network television news show, the DHS commandant announced that the gargantuan government agency created in the aftermath of 9/11 to help keep us safe is poised to become an enforcement arm for Democrats seeking to disarm Americans.

The Obama regime and Democrats in general have moved swiftly after Muslim madman Omar Mateen’s killing spree to drive the media narrative that the heinous attack at the Pulse nightclub was the result of lax gun laws instead of radical Islam.

Politico reports “Johnson: Gun control ‘part and parcel’ of homeland security”:

When it comes to protecting the United States from the threat of terrorism, gun control is now a critical component, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said Tuesday.

“I am not anxious to plunge into yet another difficult, contentious issue like the ones I already have. I do believe, however, that meaningful, responsible gun control is now part and parcel of homeland security,” Johnson said on “CBS This Morning.” “It’s critical to public safety, but we have to face the fact that meaningful, responsible gun control has to be part of homeland security as well, given the prospect of homegrown, home-born violent extremism in this country. We’ve seen this now with Orlando, tragically, with San Bernardino. It’s something that I think the American public and the Congress has to face and has to address.”

the Cabinet secretary charged with protecting the domestic United States, Johnson said, “I believe that meaningful, responsible gun control is part of homeland security. It is something we have to address.”

I have not talked about gun control publicly at this point,” Johnson said, repeating, “I think that we have to face the facts that gun control is part and parcel of homeland security and how things are evolving.

Yes, disarming law-abiding citizens and stripping them of their constitutional rights is the perfect way to keep people safe! Why hasn’t anyone ever thought of this brilliant idea before?

ALERT: Obama’s DHS Announces Unprecedented Gun Grab

    June 16, 2016

    Politico reports:

“When it comes to protecting the United States from the threat of terrorism, gun control is now a critical component, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said Tuesday.

I have not talked about gun control publicly at this point,” Johnson said, repeating, “I think that we have to face the facts that gun control is part and parcel of homeland security and how things are evolving.”

Things are not “evolving” in a manner that is consistent with a free society nor one that honors the intent of the Founding Fathers. Back when the mammoth DHS was created, the more cynical among us saw the agency as not being as much about preventing terrorism than that of a rogue government taking advantage of a good crisis to vastly expand its size and power.

As the agency now transforms into a gun-grabbing Gestapo, it would seem the cynics were right.

In a perfect world the Department of Homeland Security would be working to keep the terrorists out of America instead of keeping guns out of the hands of law-abiding Americans. Too bad we don’t live in that world.

Those creeping cat’s feet of fascism are growing louder by the day.

Precisely - if this is true, the terrorists will have won a significant victory, handed to them by 0bama's leftist administration.

Instead of just night club attendees being disarmed, they will now have a whole country unable to defend itself from their cowardly attacks.

When do the DHS firearms confiscation vans begin to make their rounds?

Seig Heil anyone? Disarmed worked real well in Germany etc. Interesting, the courts say the police do not have to protect you, the government say that it will protect you if you give up your weapons, and the criminals etc aren't giving up theirs. I hope they don"t put "The government lied" on my tombstone. It would really p*** me off.

Once it is realized that Jeh Johnson is making a power grab that exceeds even zero's reach, you'll see a LOT of resistance to that move. Exerting a claim of jurisdiction over another department's baliwick will sure as hell meet head on with a different, equally motivated head of a department (think EPA and BLM squabbling over a dry alkali creek bed in the high desert.) It is to laugh, except zero might support his efforts to increase DHS authority. That would be an even larger mess than obabblecare.

They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that's good."

They said it was for training. I called BS at first...what dipstick would pay the cost of premium ammo for training? * But the more I thought about it I started remembering $5k hammers and $10k toilet seats and remembered, if there is a way to waste our tax dollars, the feds will find it.

*Sure, I've used some of my premium factory rounds at the range...but only for experimentation and bench-marking. Once I decide a round is suitable, I set about trying to match its characteristics in my reloads...which are a lot cheaper to train with.
