How Many and Which Axes do you need?

I have a bunch of axes, mauls, hatchets, and such since I have a farm and like to collect old ones from garage sales and other misc pick ups. When I purchased my farm there were about 20 or so new handles of various sizes in storage so I started to replace some of the handles on the axes that I acquired. Takes some time but it is pretty cool to shape it to your own style.

I keep an axe in each of my vehicles and that has saved me a few times.

I love the old axes but since I cut and split about 6 cords a year by hand I think every one should have a Fliskar splitting axe and a Fliskar splitting maul in their inventory. They come in different sizes so I purchased a smaller one for my 11 year old so he could help, they have a great design and are strong and light weight.

I consider my long Fliskar Spitting Axe to be a mandatory piece of my farm equipment.
