Gun registration and hoops to jump thru to purchase a firearm were a problem there when I was stationed there in the late 70s. Keep in mind Hawaii also tried to halt American citizens from the other States from moving there less than 20 years ago. If I remember correctly, that was quickly quashed by the Federal government on a Constitutional basis.

Not trying to be a racist or throw any stones, but perhaps Hawaii is the canary in the coal mine, about 25 % of the population identifies itself as white on the census, and even less of that is classical North European background. Could see those ideas enacted into law here once those with the goals of the republics founders are replaced by our new multi ethic and multi cultural majority.

As should this.. Firearms ownership and the right to self defense is not a privilege any more than all the other natural rights of mankind are. I really hope this is challenged in the courts, otherwise; we are witnessing the erosion of all of our natural God given rights and seeing them replaced with those rights government sees fit to grant. If ignored, this isn't the slippery slope, it is a cliff over which we will be driven.

    The pendulum swings.

    Land was stolen.

    Near slaves were made.

Then House votes were counted and land was returned.

Only thing missing was, no fight by those abused.

So, most do not appreciate what they got.

And they now depend on the gifts of the politicians.
The above is about a 400 year overview of the Rape of Hawaii and the political moves that brought us to this point of controlling the present population in Hawaii.
But that is just the view of a

Man from Cambridge Mass is charged with having 4 boxes of ammo, no firearms, purchased without a fire arms id card and is out on $25,000 bail and must wear an ankle tracking device. Went to a gun show drunk and bought 3 boxes of 9 mm. Ex girl friend said he had made "threats" against democrats. Damn, if King George had just used fire arm ID cards, there would have been no march to Concord and we would still be loyal subjects like the un armed Canadians.
