I have my FFL 03, my concealed carry permit and I got a delay for some reason.
Three guns at once, is that some kind of red flag? Something political I said or posted online?
My C&R license is already useless in Oregon as it is thanks to the grifters in Salem. So now what?

This scheiss is getting old fast.

Naw, an 03 FFL really doesn’t count for much in the Modern FireArms realm... This is exactly why, I leave ALL my FireArms in my 01 FFL Inventory... Never have to worry about NICS, or any stupid State Statutes, that might be an impediment to Dealing for a Modern Weapon... Just give the Outfit a Copy of my 01 FFL and the funds, and walk out the door, and be on my way... No local or State LEO, has any jurisdiction over my Transport, or Possession, of an 01 Weapon in my Inventory, and should some Cowboy LEO decide to take Possession of one of my Inventoried FireArms, my first call. will be to. the nearest ATF Office to file a Theft of Inventory Action against the LEO, PERSONALLY, His Department , and push for the local US Attorney to seek the Maximum sentence under the Federal Statute ... I Truck NO BS, when it comes to messing with my Inventory.. Or me, and mine...

Got hung up on a purchase a few years back because someone with my exact same name, same age and birth dates are 2 days apart, one State over kidnapped, tortured and killed someone. Even had my FOID Card Suspended over it. Took nearly a year to prove That I was in fact NOT BLACK, Not Incarcerated, and that while we have the same name we do not have the same Social Security Number. And after a good size wad of money spent clearing myself and proving my innocence got to legally own my weapons again.

Yea, don't get me started! Almost the exact same thing as T5R Above, right down to 500 pounds, and BLACK! I don't even spell my last name the same as that guy, but it was close enough I guess! Long story short, several LEO lost their jobs over it, and I'm not the least bit sorry! Not my fault they cannot keep their chit strait!

Brandi & I were talking about it and she wondered if it was a quiet way for the state to make life more miserable for gun owners.
I do know that the Salem mafia are violating the Constitution at lightspeed.
I dunno, my name is somewhat common, so maybe.

    Multiple handgun purchase?

That's the only one I've seen that was troublesome.

What do you mean by delay? I recall after Sandy Hook happened and Colorado was considering some gun bills, people were stocking up. It would take a few hours. When Obama got elected, it would take a week. So has anything related to gun rights happened in Oregon that would flood the system?

@Motomom34 "What do you mean by delay?"

UNder the current NICS system, if you purchase a firearm, your info is passed by the Dealer to the ATF (or FBI or some such alphabet agency) for an "instant background" check.

The Background check can come back three ways...
Ok - Clear to purchase the firearm
Delay - can be delayed up to five business days for further investigation
Denied - the dealer is not allowed to move forward with the transaction.

My last two purchases, one in 2006 and another in 2011 from FFLs both came back as "Delays". I was given a number to call and try to get some more information.

I called and it turns out it was related to an arrest dating back to 1971. The charges were dismissed by the judge and the case was thrown out of court.
The latter little "detail" apparently didn't matter to the NICS system.

I had a thorough records check done last year by the State Police from the state where the arrest took place. It came back squeaky clean, certified, with a state seal. Haven't looked into it any further. Pretty much have stopped purchasing firearms from dealers anyway.

I think it depends on where you live. NICS Participation Map — FBI I have never had an instant background check. The shortest time I have waited was about 30-45 minutes and that was for a couple handguns. The others were hours to a week.

    That's interesting, Moto.

I got the same results in two different states. One in Nevada, a Full - Point of Contact state and one in Arizona, a Non Point of Contact state. Apparently they all share the same database. Don't know what the difference is. Nevada is the same as Colorado in that regard.

If you purchased your firearm (s) from an FFL dealer after about 1994 or so, you had background check or that dealer's in deep Kim-Chi.

It always takes some time for the okay. But even on a busy Saturday it doesn't take more than maybe an hour. So it's a good time to spend more money or start a new wish list during the wait.

But it's never been a problem. Although my first purchase in Oregon seven years ago was delayed ninety days & that was BS even back then as I had my C&R and carry permit in Kalifornia.

I must have a squeaky clean name as I have never been denied,I buy so many they know me on a first name basis. I live in La.if that means anything. I going to quit buying and get me a magnet for all those guns that have been lost in these swamps. I’m just kidding, all I own is one 12ga single barrel shotgun and a single barrel .22,honest.

The last one I had took 5 minutes, and that was because the dealer said that I must have had an security clearance beyond Secret... and she was transferred to another person at NICS, now that doesn't seem to make sense, but that's what she said.

It is common for there to be a second person that does the NICS Check after the FFL gives the first Person you Information... If you do not do a lot of NICS Checks, you likely never noticed,,, I believe that it is the First Person does nothing but Data Entry, and then you get passed to the Actual Checker, and that person runs the Information thru the NICS Database... This is a change from the way it was done, in the last few years...

Until a couple of years ago when the Salem crew illegally declared BGC's the law against the voters will, face to face sales were legal.
Bastards rammed it through as an "Emergency" and ignored We the People.
It's another leftist attack on the Constitution.

They use that emergency play whenever they create law by imperial fiat.

They are pretty blatant at this point and NOBODY is pushing back! When the Gov can violate the Oregon State Constitution by Executive Order by having the Oregon State Police create a gun registry and nobody says squat you know they are close to the endgame. IMO the OSP is a political body and not to be trusted as an organization.

Don't get me started on the leftist super majority that is working hard to turn Oregon into the net Venezuela. The Gross Receipts Tax (taxed on SALES not on PROFITS) rejected by voters last year is now being fast tracked and will be effectively a nuclear strike on Oregon's businesses.

The candy assed pencil pushers in Salem who have never run a business don't realize that the profit margin on most businesses is so low that the GRT they are cramming down our throats will cause them to lose money every time they make a sale. They will go out of business one way or another,so the state not only will lose the existing revenue of the company, but the income tax provided by the workers who lost their jobs.

Legislators don't look that far ahead. They only know that they want money, NOW, so that the role of government can be further expanded.
