He is lucky there was no fire nearby that required that hydrant.I've seen fire trucks push cars that were blocking hydrants right out of the way without any concern for the offending vehicle.I really hope they didn't let him off easy just because he was a cop.He gives good cops a bad name

In some places, the firemen use an axe as a can opener and run their hoses through the car.

I've seen that too ...quite funny to see when the owner's reaction to the damage and truly priceless when the police hand them a huge fine lol.

This is nation wide even in our little town. The cops think they are above the law, they speed like frickin mad men, off duty and you will get pulled if they feel like it, period. We have had some get duis in their cruisers and guess what 4 months later running around in full dress in cruisers. This is county and city cops not states. But they have an attitude to. The police state is alive and well, ya better believe it.

This is a sad fact now in America, and all over the world - - somewhere, in hidden places, the good people will survive when the lights go out - Happy New Year.

It's a parking violation, for Christ's sake. Give him a ticket.

And a tow, the ticket plus the tow and reclaim price will be a lesson learned. That cop should get at least a CD to go with the ticket that he probably won't get. Bung wit.

So far as access to the hydrants goes, if he's in that spot and they need the hydrant, anything goes. The largest connection is for the pumper truck suction ALWAYS pointed toward the street for access. Those hoses are stiffened to prevent collapse, you cannot bend them to clear a car that is where it ought not be.

I have a harder time with blocking hydrants than I do for healthy people taking handicapped spots. Just the way I am, nobody else has to think that way.

Entitelment, do as I say not as I do! This is the problem with Police like that. Not all Police are like this guy. the camera man should have him arrested for assault!
  16. This is the proper way to deal with this problem By publicizing it, the PD superiors will be forced to deal with it. Good job!
