If I had to choose, I would go with the SOG SEAL. I owned 1 in the past, seemed to work fine

Any knife made with quality steel will do just fine. My preference for all situations must meet the following:1. At least a 7 inch blade 2. It must be a full tang. 3. I want a blade that is 3/16 to 1/4 inch in thickness, so it will not break easily. I'm certain there are a lot of good knives, but these 3 points are my minimal.

  5. Would love to say mine was a expensive or custom survival fixed blade knife but the Fallkniven F1 with a Campmaster sheath and is all I need. I sure do love to look at all the highend survival cutters though.

My OKC RANGER RD-7 fits that criteria...
    7 1/2 " 5160 steel blade, flat grind w/ convexed secondary edge.
    full tang.
    1/4" thick.
    Orange G-10 scales.
A beast of a knife...I choose this as my one fixed blade knife to survive.
