So I'm getting rid of cable. Any one know good Internet radio sites? I bin away from this site for too long I need to get rid of Facebook too
The internet is yours for the taking. There's millions of podcasts available, and many radio stations have a streaming link, too. If you're looking for a podcast listing try this: podCast411 - Learn about Podcasting and Podcasters: directories and if you would like a radio station listing, try these: Classical Radio Stations 80s Radio Stations Country Radio Stations Meditation Radio Stations Rock Radio Stations Use the drop-down to select any genre you like. I only listed several of the more popular genres. Also, try a search into any engine for "free streaming radio", "radio stream listing", or even "podcast listing". If there's a particular radio station you like locally, then search for that station's call sign. For example, I used to live in the Boston area, and I miss the radio from WAAF broadcasts. So, I search for it and there it is. WAAF | Boston radio station that plays rock, with streaming real-time audio.
Prepper type non main stream media type of radio I guess it would be pod casts. Pretend your talking to a cave man lol
I like KCDX.com, but I'm an old fart hippie when it comes to music only. They can keep the rest of that hippie philosophical trash. Very seldom is heard a commercial, maybe once a day or every other day.
Don't forget about Falcon15's excellent weekly podcasts: Radio KAOS | SHTF Series For the previous shows, hover your cursor over "Radio Kaos" at the top menu, go down to "Archives", then select "In Case of Emergency."
SHTF The Preparedness Podcast SHTF Plan - When It Hits The Fan, Don't Say We Didn't Warn You Defeating Looters: Podcast Interview on Modern Combat & Survival - The Prepper Journal AR-15 Podcast 168 - Bob Mayne and the SHTF AR-15 Surviving Mondays 20: SHTF Sanitation | Survivalist Prepper Prepper Podcast Radio Network Archives - American Preppers Network You can find a prepper/survival podcast at any of those links....Ug.
As @Brokor mentioned, there is a mountain of stuff out there, more than you'll ever have time to listen to. I suggest SiriusXM. They do not have a specific "prepper channel" but there is numerous political & issues programs that appeal to peppers/survivalists. It's not free, about $15/month; it is worth it. I particularly like Patriot Channel 125 and Blaze Radio (internet only). I occasionally check out Liberty Radio Network ( Audio Streams ). I'm libertarian by nature and they can be too libertarian even by my very generous standards. Still, it's mostly good material. And also Chris Brake Show Podcast --Not prepper related, but fun and entertaining. Chris Brake is a Howard Stern wannabe who actually does a halfway decent job of pulling it off. @Falcon15 does "In Case of Emergency". I have not listened to very much of his show because it is not downloadable; you have to listen live in real time. What I have heard is good. I wish he'd fix this problem because it's probably costing him a lot of listeners. The only other suggestion I can make is to be very discriminating as to what you listen to. Any whack job can throw together a professional sounding podcast that has an appearance of credibility, and many of them do. There's a lot of misinformation and BS put out by biscuit brains sitting in their basements slugging beer. They all think they're the next Alex Jones. Similar to internet forums and blogs, finding a good podcast is like reaching into a toilet full of chit to pull out a $100 bill. I've test-driven dozens of podcasts but regularly listen to only two or three. I want to get the best I can for my time.
There are many stand alone internet radios out there but I have two Logitech Squeezebox radios and really like them they can act as a media server and don't tie up or require my computers.
I like @Falcon15 show but never remember till Monday. And I ask here so I don't end up with the nut jobs Thanks guys
I am working on the archives. We have a new radio stream and the content is live streamed at 128KBPS, CD quality audio
