I have been doing High Angle Rescue training at height all week.We used a Spec Pack and First responder kit.
Among some of the items in the First Responder kit is a few Israeli Bandage.
If you haven't worked with these things they are great. I recommend you stock up on them.

Could have used one the other day. An old timer I know went to scratch an itch on his leg and somehow managed to lose two pints of blood before the 5th cauterizing attempt stopped the blood flow.

Coumadin requires that the patients Blood be titrated weekly, so as to NOT overdose and have a Bleed Out, due to a minor accident, or under-dose and through a clot. When Momma was on it, after a Pulmonary Embolism, we were flying her to town once a month, and sending Blood Samples in weekly, for 6 months. Expensive and not a lot of fun, but better safe than sorry..... ..... YMMV....

I seriously want to know what the doctors were thinking when they first gave rat poison to thin out peoples blood.

But, warfarin has saved many a life since.

After a near miss with a running chainsaw I 'reevaluated' my first aid needs. I now have a chainsaw kit with the Israeli battle dressing and a few of my old USGI dressings at arms length at all times. Good piece of gear and worth every penny when SHTF.

OH yeah! And I invested in kevlar chainsaw chaps.
