So far i have put 1 mile on it.. Drove it from the beach to the cabin... Now I can start planning the modifications... The new Kenwood TM-D710a Dual-band Radio will be here tomorrow, on the Mailplane... The rest of that install is already here... The A-Frame from the Rhino660, will need some mods to get it to fit on the new Front Bumper... Start looking at Winch Kits, leaning toward another Warn 2500# Winch. but going to look around first... Thinking going Synthetic instead of 3/8th Stainless Wire for the winch...
Definitely go with a synthetic rope on your winch, your hands and patience will both thank you. Also consider a 4-5000 pounder as the ratings are generally based upon just one layer of line on the drum and if you have most of the line on the drum the capacity drops big time, like 40-50%.
Plus you don't have cable twist or kink to deal with, and it's easier to run through a snatch block, or to double up through a pully!
All good reasons, and ideas/Information. Thanks.. I have a $750US budget for the upgrades/mods, not including the stuff that is already here, or almost here...
First, paint a fat, orange "X" on the roof. Consider a flat strap winch. You can see the twists instead of waiting for kink to start. Remember, there's not a lot of point to having a capacity much more than the weight of the unit. Start getting silly about tying the machine to a tree and using the winch to move a monster trunk- Well that could get exciting. So the spring projects are lined up --
Dump box ? Heated ? doors can be added ? Blower can be added ? Im waiting for the next crunch , as last one . I picked up a few tools (like this) S Nice
Synthetic. I went to that several years ago and never looked back. You just have to be careful that others don't treat it as a wire rope by wrapping it around things or getting a knot in it.
If nothing else it certainly looks a lot better than your Rhino did from your last pictures. Curious - is it gas or diesel?
This is the 900 version with the small Diesel... Sadly, No MailPlane today, due to Wx in town... Radios will have to wait till tomorrow...
