With the next round of gun control legislation coming down the pike I thought I'd do some research on this matter. Forgot what politicians were saying this but the general message was if gun owners don't comply you will go to prison. OK, I see a major flaw in this plan. First there are 393,347,000 guns in 326,479,000 people's hands.(as of 2017). This means that there are 120.5 guns pre 100 people in this country. As of 2018 there are 2.3 million prisoners in 1719 state, 102 federal prisons. California with the highest amount at 202,700. Vermont lowest at 1700. There are an estimated 95 million gun owners in America! And I'm being conservative about this figure. In prospective New York City's population as of 2017 was only 8,622,698. So in order to incarcerate 95 million law abiding citizens the government would have to have a prison the size of a medium sized state! More flaws in this ludicrous plan is area, and the biggie, cost! Like all democrat dreams this certainly wouldn't happen. The numbers are on our side.

The numbers come out much better if we put in prison ALL socialist/democrat/liberal politicians - city, county, state, federal. Make them do farmwork and grow their own food.

While I agree with your conclusion that the the numbers are on our side, I'm not convinced that they wouldn't try it. Politicians won't be the ones trying to enforce something like this, although they should go through every door on every raid first. That would end it quickly.

    Humbug! Burial bullshit!
Commit your body to Science and Medical Research. My mother did it and it was extremely considerate of her to do so. Saved my sister and I a big ordeal.
Now I've signed up for the same, and so has my wife. They take care of everything. Who cares what happens to your body after you die? You're just going to decay in the ground anyway.

They will try something. However many LEO's have stated publicly that they will NOT enforce any unconstitutional laws. And this was in New York State! Most conservative states won't either. That leaves the feds to do the dirty work but local LEO won't let that happen. At least in my state.

Like a lot of other laws, it will be used to punish the people they wish to make an example of. They didn't have a single fact based crime in Waco, but they found the survivors guilty and kept them in jail for years. BOW DOWN TO THE MASTER ALL YOU SERFS.

Dad and Mom were both cremated, ashes spread in the back forty of their property (where I currently reside).
When I go, I too will be cremated. No muss, no fuss.

In the last 150 years, there has been no revolt or uprising, and the more laws they pass and we do nothing. The more risk they are willing to take. The NRA is weakening and this doesn't help. So why they can't arrest us all, they will arrest enough and force the weak into compliance. A few Waco TX is all thats needed for them to show whos boss and we will do nothing and they will have accomplished there goals never really having to arrest anyone. Hitler killed millions, and yet no known blood was from his hands personally. They have power and influence, how do you combat that ? Fear, and we generate none, so we are powerless to stop anything, unless............................( edit typos was tired)

Splendid idea....give them some playmates, and include all fascist / Republican / Conservative politicians - city, county, state, federal..among the self sufficient incarcerated: Why should the 'right' have a free go at mooching off the taxpayers' teat? Adding to them all the blood sucking, tithe demanding leaders (of all faith confessions) would also be a splendid idea...

arrell Collard and his team at Neptune Society made a very difficult time as easy as possible. The whole concept of Neptune Society is to feel like you have taken as much burden from your family as possible, and Darrell ensured that the concept was a reality for our family.

IDK about the taking away of guns. Isn't there a clause in the constitution about that? [LMAO]

Comply with what? Where is this legislation?

I have no clue if this thread is about gun control or cremation. OP reads like an NRA doom is on, give us money solicitation. I will state again: Democrats own guns and they know how to shoot. By putting a labeling someone and determining you know all about someone because of the election sign in their front yard is not wise. That person maybe as skilled or more skilled then you. I just read a thread on here (SM) about young professionals hunting with crossbows. If "they" take all the guns, the hipsters will still be able to protect themselves.

    From the article:

"Coutts says his ideal solution would be for cities to landscape walkable spaces where citizens could scatter the ashes of their loved ones after securing a permit for a small fee."

Yeah, God forbid we allow one last escape from fees..........

I was told that if you didn't pay the 1000 dollar plus fee for a cremation , and opt for the " budget burning" , that they stack 3-5 of you in there and then you're ashes are mixed with just anybody . If it concerns you .

Very interesting how a 'gun control' post turns into a 'cremation' post. LOL! Having had my chuckle...

I truly doubt Idaho (my home state) would enforce any of these types of laws that go against the Constitution's 2nd Amendment. Furthermore, I doubt the people here would stand for it - and the politicians here realize this.

As far as 'to cremate or not to cremate' I'll go which whatever is the cheapest, even an old trash bag would do me. :)

  18. I bought a Elm wood casket. Once in a life time investment I'll never out live. Now on subject. Our local HAM radio club can't get thirty members to agree, how do you get millions of "independent thinkers" to get along together? If D.C. did pass some draconian laws and tried to enforce them, I fear it would not be a widespread, nationwide effort. It would be defeat in detail. Enforcement would be isolated local events with little information allowed to leak out to the masses. Like paying off credit card debt, pay off the smallest one first, next month use that now unused payment on the next largest bill, keep it up until all are gone. Find the weakest , defeat them, move on to the next strongest. Just like in WW II. If resistance developed, wanna bet that SMURFs would magically appear. Martial law to get around Posse Comitatus? How many in the U.S. armed forces would obey orders to attack U.S. citizens? NRA is not the great powerful entity mass media tries to portray us as. But it is at least a nation wide organization with some semblance of unity.

@BTPost "We plan on Viking Funerals right out in the Inlet....."
Now THAT is too cool for words!

@Marvin L. Steinhagen " If D.C. did pass some draconian laws and tried to enforce them..."
Well, the city itself (Wash D.C.) did pass 'draconian' laws until very recently and they did enforce them...but, in truth, hardly no one lives there except during Business Hours... I am sure that the elites realize what will happen when they force the issue and that is why they are trying to gain acceptance of it first by a large majority, which explains the propaganda....then there is the small problem of it being in the Constitution but they will continue to test the waters for acceptance and beat the drums, wave the flags to make us all safer by making firearms illegal or so expensive due to taxation that they cannot be obtained.
