drudge:ABC the: "all 'bammy channel..." <tt><tt>ABC TURNS PROGRAMMING OVER TO OBAMA; NEWS TO BE ANCHORED FROM INSIDE WHITE HOUSE Tue Jun 16 2009 08:45:10 ET On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care -- a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm! Highlights on the agenda: ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House. The network plans a primetime special -- 'Prescription for America' -- originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate. The Director of Communications at the White House Office of Health Reform is Linda Douglass, who worked as a reporter for ABC News from 1998-2006. Late Monday night, Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay fired off a complaint to the head of ABCNEWS: Dear Mr. Westin: As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC's astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming. Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party's opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers. In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime. Respectfully, Ken McKay Republican National Committee Chief of Staff MORE ABCNEWS Senior Vice President Kerry Smith on Tuesday responded to the RNC complaint, saying it contained 'false premises': </tt></tt> http://drudgereport.com/flashaot.htm
? Why would Drudge's credibility be in question? This is being reported in MSM also. All the talking heads are on it, Limbaugh, Hannity etc. There is a movement to petition the local ABC affiliate channel to not run this propaganda.
what ever happened to the fairness doctrine! Suckers, its only a one way street for these bastards. I am not for this doctrine, but it is all talk and no walk. These guys are commie posers using the media as their bullhorn. They will figure a way out to silence the opposition.....just like Putin and the illustrious relelection of Iran's president.
All the other networks have to do is run a "reality" show against it (unless the new digital boxes change the channel). Viewers seem to be more interested in who's the best singer/dancer/survivalist than in politics these days.
If it happens as he says, then his credibility is gold plated if not solid gold. If it doesn't happen, then he is dust in the wind. I haven't seen it in the MSM yet (but will look.) Dunno if the rest of the conservative talking heads have it from separate sources or are simply passing along a rumor. Let's see if it walks and talks. Something that incredible is hard to believe, the more so if the politically correct WH is directly involved.
From the ABC web site; The president will answer questions offered by audience members "selected by ABC News who have divergent opinions in this historic debate," as well as some submitted via ABCNews.com, according to the press release announcing the event. "Good Morning America," "World News," "Nightline," and ABCNews.com’s "Top Line" will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda. Diane Sawyer will have an exclusive interview with President Obama airing Wednesday on "Good Morning America." It will be a whitehouse/ABC news selected group alone who get to ask questions. http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2009/06/abc-news-responds-to-rnc-letter.html
I wanted to say something.....But being dumbfounded by this has left me without a word or a way to express my concerns!
http://www.onenewsnow.com/Politics/Default.aspx?id=573656 ABC special - a White House infomercial? Pete Chagnon - OneNewsNow - 6/22/2009 7:00:00 AM A healthcare expert is taking umbrage with ABC's planned healthcare special this week. ABC will air the special from the White House during primetime on June 24. "Prescription for America," to be moderated by ABC News' Charles Gibson and Diane Sawyer, will originate from the East Room and will feature the president explaining his plans for reforming the nation's healthcare system. Officials with the network claim they will air opposing views, that the audience that will offer up questions for the president during the program will be made up of Americans "who have divergent opinions" in the debate on national healthcare. However, critics think the network will basically be providing President Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats with a free infomercial to sell their healthcare plan to the American public.
Drudge has repeatedly shown credibility when others all rallied to hide the baloney. I have a lot more confidence in what Drudge reports than the MSM or Snopes, for that matter.
This should get Gibson and Sawyer fired. It won't. ABC is going to broadcast blatant, in your face propaganda and they really believe the American people will go along with this. Or they don't care because they're totally controlled by the government.
I don't abide liars or thieves. My apologies to Obama lovers before hand. Obama lovers might want to not read this. I easily know when Obama is lying .... his lips are moving !!! and, in MHO he is the biggest thief the American People have ever been subject to. That said, I will NOT be watching any of the TOTALLY LEFT WING BIAS TV stations during Obama's Town Hall Meeting. The whole damn thing stinks more than an Iranian Election !!! The Kool-ade drinking Dumb-Masses can feel free to listen to the lies. Most wouldn't understand the truth if it slapped them in the face. My rant is done. Tonight I will be reading a good book until after the State Run TV finishes, and I can get a more fair and balanced observation and analysis from Fox Nation Headline News. JMHO of course .... you all have a fine evening. I think I will have a drink or three as well.
Why should We The People be surprised? Bobo's handlers won't let him have to answer ANY questions not on the Teleprompter Script. I stopped watching ABC long ago. And SeeBS, and NBC.
Anybody watch this thing??? I used my time more productively and reorganized my midget porn collection.[rofllmao]
Doesn't appear too many people did. It was ranked dead last in that time slot. A re-run of CSI NY beat it out in viewers.
