» City Wants Power to “Disarm Individuals” During Crisis Alex Jones' Infowars: There's a war on for your mind!

some Yahoo City Fathers think they can Legislate away, our Rights, under the Constitution.... This doesn't even deserve a mention, but then again, apparently there are SOME "Small Town Hicks" who just don't get it..... Where is the city Attorney, Shouldn't he be telling these IDIOTS, that this is just NUTS? Hey @Seacowboys maybe you should get Mouthpiece Frankie @F. Ticious to head on up there, and set these Yahoos STRAIGHT.... and ask the Moose to provide Frankie some Bodyguard cover.....

A very good example why to pay as much or more attention to local politics as we do to national. These are the ones who aspire to the state and national level of thuggery.

The citizens of Guntersville need to disarm this ignorant cow of a mayor and the town council by removing them from office. "Do unto others before they can do unto you."

After witnessing the aftermath of Katrina & Rita I really thought nobody would be stupid enough to attempt a forced disarmament. The .gov got away with it once, next time they ain't gonna be so lucky.

Yea, just like the 911 hijackers... They got away with that once, but as the saying goes " Never Again" even the SHEEPLE will stand up and smash anyone who tries that, NOW...

I'll keep an ear and eye out, and see what happens, truth be told it will probably disappear quietly into the night. 2 sherriffs nearby have already supported the 2nd amendment, and said they would not enforce any unconstitutional laws. Im hoping my sherriff will do the same.

This was surprising. I could never imagine those 'bama boys giving up their guns. I am sure that perky blonde mayor is learning all about Southerners now. Any Southerner I have ever met likes to shoot and can shoot real well.

I read that article earlier today and thought "What a maroon!" I would keep a sharp eye on the mayor and council until all are elected out of office. If they try it once they'll try it again!

The potential for things to get real ugly, real fast the next time a disaster strikes a region in which lawless gang goblins have already started popping caps is high. A secure home in a stable neighborhood within a disaster region does not need to be disarmed by weekend military from out of state, or by black-uniformed civilian security "specialists" that have been ordered to sterilize a neighborhood of its defensive firearms. Those boys need to go where the trouble is rather than confront the law-abiding homeowner. If they do, there is a strong possibility that lawful citizens will kill and be killed in defense of their homes and guns in totally needless confrontations before cooler heads can prevail. All that is needed is wise leadership from authorities who respect and understand the US Constitution to keep a "lid on the boiling kettle".

It's hard to know what the good Mayor's natural hair colour is, given that she seems to have some hair dye augmentation....but that is pretty irrelevant to the proposal that she is supporting. The proposal is not very well thought out, and an intellectually challenged sixth grader can tell that the proposal contravenes the 2nd Ammendment (I wonder what legal advice she and her councillors are getting), and the powers are redundant for the purpose of keeping the peace. The police already have powers to deal with "unruly citizens" who are a clear and present danger to emergency workers or anyone else for that matter.

The proposed gun confiscation ordinance would seem to contribute to EROL in the event of a disaster emergency by allowing LEOs much wider discretion in deciding on what constitutes "unruly behaviour" sufficient to justify confiscation. It would be interested in reading the draft of the proposed ordinance. I would be concerned if the ordinance allowed for the pre-emptive confiscation of firearms lawfully owned by law abiding citizens. Ilegally owned, unregistered firarms in the posession of criminals and gang bangers don't require this additional ordinance...police have adequate authority to deal with them at any time.

Apparently this ordinance is modelled on an ordinance in effect with the Tuscaloosa City authorities...what are the citizens in that city doing about repealing their emergency gun confiscation ordinance?

Chell, they saw the ERROR of their was and have withdraw the proposed ordinance.... And they likely will NOT be reElected... It seems the Tar is cooling again....

You are most likely right about re-election. Tuscaloosa is still the "shining model" for this kind of legislative thinking, and may inspire other doofuses to follow suit.

i found out today, that the state of alabama has a law on the books (since 1955) and the city ordinance was modeled after the state law. I cant find the exact reference, but its out here somewhere.

Just because some dufus Legislature passed it, and some other dufus Governor Signed it, does NOT make it Legal, or Enforceable.... as the first Federal Judge will toss it out, as UnConstitutional, at Summary Judgement. It violates settled Law in Heller, and McDonald, PERIOD.....

You are most likely right...but bad, unlawful legislation, even if unenforceable is still a misguided inspiration to those who would have their way in promoting the limitation of lawful gun ownership. Some, uninformed folk will follow the spirit, if not the letter of those laws, even if they are bogus laws. Better that such laws be repealed or nullified; or better still, aborted before enactment.
