yeah. Give the judgement call to the lowest denominator in the food chain. That's why the whole program was ginned up to make sure there was no judgements allowed, everybody got the same treatment, no matter how dumb. It will fly, right up until something else goes awry. Sounds sensable to me, cant see it makeing it through the beurocrats. In truth it would tend to make things safer since the security personel wouldnt have to be wasteing thier time pating down the blue haired old wemon while letting 22 year old Habib Al Haziem not even be given a second glance. Also the fact that a person with ill intent could walk on with a blade anyhow, hell I can make blades of plastic, glass and stone and no metal detector will pick them up and they could easily be hidden in ways that a pat down would miss, but not intending to do anything I wouldnt bother while a terrorist would if they wanted it. If the other passengers on board have ANYTHING on them it only means fewer of them will be harmed in subdueing any terrorists, lets face it, I dont see another load of American passengers sitting back and allowing themselves to be flown into a building with out fighting back, even the sheeple, and also dont see terrorists being able to get enouph of them on one plane to not be totaly overwhelmed by the number of folks fighting for thier lives, not to mention the ones who may want a little pay back.
How about this for creative thinking, give everyone that boards a machete'. Think about it, how many people would storm the cockpit if every passenger there had a big knife?
That would probably cut down on the domestic disputes as well E.L. Nothing will keep a man in his place as well as a woman with a machete in her lap.
