I know a couple people from the boards are going and I need to know. 1) If I'm correct, I think this is happening near me. I live in Clarksville IN across from Louisville. 2) When 3) How much 4) How will I be able to find/meet other "SMonkeys".
Sorry Blackjack, I did not see your post until we got home. Next one is in April, it will be the first or second weekend. Cost to get into the show is 10.00 per day. If you want to camp it is an additional 10.00 per day, paid in advance.(For example, we camped from friday thru sunday and paid 30.00. I don't think this is refundable if you leave early.) Sites are first come first served. The entire campground is a big field, trailers could be used, but level spots are taken first so get there early. If it rains, mud could be a problem. Toilets are port-a-pots, no water so bring your own. It is at Knob Creek, across the river from Clarksville. Check the forum as it gets closer, Melbo and I typically post something before we go. Maybe we'll see you in the spring..... phishi
Well, I'll be farther away next year, but it still sounds like something I'd like to go to. Might pitch a tent. Thanks for the info.
KCR is a great time. a few of us have made it a every 6 month trip. We had 6 this past weekend. I had it marked on the SM calander. I'll put the next date up there as well. WOWW! Looks like fun! I WILL find a way to get there next year. How much money would you advise to bring to ensure a real good time?
My expenditures were as follows: $30.00 for two nights camping $10.00 entrance fee at shoot $25.00 for five metric FN FAL magazines $3.00 for 11' cannon fuse $10.00 for several cups coffee and a couple of hotdogs $437.00 for a DSA FN FAL reciever Melbo, bless his heart, didn't do much to discourage purchasing a M3 kit but I escaped with my credit card in-tact. The DSA reciever actually waited purchase until I got home and sent a signed FFL to the dealer so you really can't count that as a Knob Creek expenditure, can you? The problem is that I still think $2650.00 is a pretty good price for a .50 belt-fed weapon even if you have to adapt a set of spade grips to replace the electric firing solonoid and Cole Distributing has two of them...hmmmm
