I think that follows the original intent of the founding fathers to have all able bodied citizens armed. Why did this law even have to be passed?
Passed it in '82. Obie was barely off the tit back then. Had to be another reason --. But whatever, it serves as an affirmation of 2A. I can't help wondering if there are going to be prosecutions of those that don't obey that particular law (ordinance?) and given the population growth, if the good citizenry are even aware of the requirement.
Shame they don't enforce it as vigorously as the socialists enforce their commie crap , if you want to be a antigun socialist take your stupid butt somewhere else to do it or go to jail . What good are any laws if they wont be enforced ? As far as exceptions for those that can't afford a gun all that has to be done is that after the cops have a reason to confiscate one and have used it for evidence in a trial if they got a conviction they don't give it back to the criminal so why not sell it to a poor person for next to nothing ?
Its a great statment for the town. I hope more towns will read about this via the news and follow suit.
Thats why i love this forum. I like the town and just like when texas passed the concealed carry laws the crime dropped where as in all places where gun laws ban guns the crime is crazy. i just hope this spreads like wildfire.
Gun use should be a required course in all US high schools. Just as we are required to pay taxes, all citizens should be skilled in the use of arms and have them at home ready for a moments notice. Guns keep us free. Of this there is no doubt.
One of the reasons I left Colorado....... Here in Arizona, you can strap it on your hip, and hardly anyone notices..... "hardly anyone"......There's always someone out there to make it an issue! I sit outside and clean the rifles and pistols after 4-6 hours at the range, and the local P.D. drive by and wave! Now, that's a good feeling!
