a documentary on a free form community of fiercely independant, proud, desert rats in new mex living a hand to mouth, no money existence: hurting vets, mental illness, pot,and people. Value judgements can be discussed/ levied by those who feel it necessary... http://www.snagfilms.com/films/title/off_the_grid_life_on_the_mesa/
A community of consenting adults, living on their own terms and not harming or enfluencing anyone else - more power to them. Leave them be.
I was "groovin" along until the first guy with his kids stuffed into the R.V.. It may not hurt them, they may even gain something valuable, but that was far enough from my experience it set me back a notch. I 'm having an internal argument over these points (1)"Its one thing for me to move into a one room hunting shack, it's quite another to impose the same hardships on your kids." (2)I thought they were self supporting food wise. Until everybody jumped in the trucks for the food bank drop... I don't know what to think about some of that. It was obvious the filmmakers were uncomfortable with the everyday casual display of firearms.
Similar thing happening for quite some time, in western Arizona, along the Colorado River area....Nothing but sand out there for miles and miles.....some work in the casino's...if they can get there. A lot of them haul water in from the river, but that has become dangerous, as now there are a lot of "people" living on the river, in homemade house boats...wanna guess where all their waste goes? Into that river! Yuck.
