I use the explorer type, made my Rose Mtn. http://www.fire-pistons.com/index.html The one pictured is a survival series, made from beautiful wood with a steel core and steel rod with rubber 'o' rings, standard with all their models. I bought it on Ebay for about $15 from their store. It works. All of their products are excellent. Most won't break the bank either. Although this is not my preferred method to start a fire; the pistons are reliable and they do work after some practice and with good tinder.
