FWIW My wife had a Nissan Maxima when we met. She put over 200,000 miles on it and it was still running strong when we sold it. I know a couple of other folks who have had them too and they have all been very good and dependable cars.
Just in case she is pickup oriented, I just rolled over 217,750 on my Ranger 4X4, essentially trouble free. 4.0 L 6 cyl. Minimum 18 mpg (unless the trailer is on, then it drops to 15.) The 4 cyl version is really, really slow, but a buddy gets 21 mpg and better with his.
I went 300k on my Honda Accord, timing belts and tires was about it. oh yea and hose change @ 200k. 31 mpg and i drove it like i stole it
Found a 96 Civic 2 door coupe in almost NIB condition inside and out. 99K miles. $4300. Put the timing belt. water pump and a set of new axles on it today. 300 mile test run with my daughter last week showed us at 36.5 MPG. and, the timing belt had slipped 2 notches so shes been running a bit retaded. I bet we go up from here. I looked ataround 250 cars and drove ~30
