I just bought a PAF 308 16" and I am looking to put on sights. I have been contemplating getting a some nice glass and use the pop up sights as backup by using the 45° offset rail for the front and back rail. Thoughts?
I've thought about doing that, but my scope takes up a lot of real estate. I don't have a rail on the front, just a free float tube. That's ok though, I'm planning on getting the tube drilled and tapped for a set of short rails. This will enable me to put backup sights on the rifle. I just haven't decided to mount at a 45 degree offset or just put them on the top. I could remove the scope if I had to, I just haven't yet. (Ok, maybe once, when I had it Duracoated...)
