CNN, part of the Time Warner media conglomerate, said that it would name a replacement for Dobbs later today. The long-serving CNN anchor has become an increasingly controversial figure in the eyes of the broadcaster's largely liberal audience, with outspoken comments about illegal immigration. Earlier this year Dobbs also weighed in to the debate about Barack Obama's birth certificate, urging the president to do more than prove he was born in Hawaii – lending credence to unsubstantiated claims by the so-called "birthers". In announcing his resignation last night, Dobbs indicated that he was quitting CNN to gain more freedom to express his views and even hinted at a possible move into politics. "Some leaders in media, politics and business have been urging me to go beyond the role here at CNN and to engage in constructive problem solving as well as to contribute positively to the great understanding of the issues of our day," he said. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/nov/12/lou-dobbs-cnn
Re: lou dobbs leaves cnn after30 years He will quickly find out that he has even less influence in politics, because as we all (should) know -the true patriots are mostly shoved to the sidelines or removed altogether. He had an audience with only the commercials to contend with as a TV Show Host. Now, he will most certainly be censored and misrepresented by our glorious Liberal, corporate controlled media as a politician. And if he walks on the bankers? Forget about it.
Re: lou dobbs leaves cnn after30 years I think he will turn up on Fox, or on AM radio. Maybe both. The recent success of Glenn Beck leaving CNN might just have played a part in Dobbs leaving CNN. I wish him luck.
Re: lou dobbs leaves cnn after30 years Beck crosses the line with the FED: YouTube- Glenn Beck shreds the Obama Administration, and for good reason I have to give the guy props. Was his decision to leave Fox only his choice? I do know that if you step on the bankers-they kill you. Their track record proves this undeniably...of course, then there is the other side of Beck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCzigDeONHc But who knows? It's hard to tell what is REAL anymore.
Re: lou dobbs leaves cnn after30 years My mistake, I meant Glenn Beck leaving CNN not Fox where he is currently employed.
That's what I thought. I didn't catch anything. You should have seen me searching for "Beck quits Fox" for like...7 hours. Funny.
