WASHINGTON — A Washington, D.C., musician who ordered a flat-screen TV through Amazon.com was shocked to receive a semiautomatic assault rifle instead. Thirty-eight-year-old Seth Horvitz says he purchased the 39-inch television from a third-party seller. A box arrived from UPS on Tuesday evening, and it seemed too small to contain the TV. He says he initially thought it contained accessories. But when he opened it, he found a Sig Sauer military-style rifle. He says he had never held a gun before he felt the trigger of the rifle. An invoice showed that the gun was intended for delivery to a firearms dealer in Duncansville, Penn. Horvitz called police, who took the gun and are investigating how the mistaken shipment occurred. Amazon.com and United Parcel Service had no immediate comment.
He called the police? Why? ...because calling the sender would have been out of line? I'd probably get more entertainment from the rifle.
Heck, Keep the Weapon and scrap the Flat Screen..... The gun is worth WAY More, that that flat screen.....
anybody know what model of TV he ordered.....I might like to order one of those in the hopes they get my order wrong too
If that had happened to me, no one would know about it! And the seller would get an excellent review!
And now the firearm gets destroyed - it IS in DC afterall. Receiving that in the mail would be a good time to STFU!! At least in a Free State........ I didn't sign anything....... Realistically though, honest joe that I am, I'd likely contact the seller and see about getting the rifle back to him legit, and getting the thing Iordered.
I ordered two cases of freeze dried foods and got a box with assorted "adult novelty gifts" once. Both are very useful I suppose but hardly interchangeable!! Oh yeah, melbo, yer avatar is really freakin me out man!!
Rifle! What rifle??? I didn't get no stinking rifle! All I got was this POS TV screen over there that don't work. I want my money back!!!!!
He did NOT get an Assault Rifle...he got an AR-15 which is NOT select fire. He got, at best, an evil black rifle. Not the same thing and I hope for his sake he lives in a safe neighborhood and never gets robbed.
