Given the media intensity given to the Covid 19 (otherwise known as Corona or Wuhan) virus, there seems no reason to have posts on that very specific subject in several forums Accordingly, all of those posts will be moved to "Headlines". I remember when my brother and I were taking lessons as kids. I dropped out a few years later to pursue rodeo and girls..
My kid brother OTOH stuck with it. Ended up studying under a master while stationed in Korea and was on the Air Force kick boxing team while I spent the next 15 years getting the shit stomped outta me by 2,000lb future Big Macs..

Best thing that ever happened to me, Kenpo was required in my life to help shape whom I became.
I think it helped me survive some very rough patches, and each day seems to still be present.
I am very grateful as well.

I wish I had the opportunity to learn martial arts growing up ,but when high school wrestling became available I jumped in with both feet . I also played foot ball, but wrestling was my thing then.
My work outs were not over after practice , I still had wood to split and a ditch to dig, plumbing to fix and, building materials to move at home.

I had a few years of Karate as a teen, but during my A.F. training discoverd Krav Maga and was hooked! Over the next 26 years i have added to that with other martial arts and can say its made a yuge difference in my life! I have never needed to use it for self preservation, but could put a real hurt on any one who made the mistake of trying me!

I consider wrestling a form of martial art.

I started Kenpo as a Jr. High School Student, and progressed to Brown Belt by the time I graduated.. Then studied Tyi Quan Do in College, and became asst. Instructor by the time I was finished with College...
It has served me well, in that the study allowed me to learn to Control my temper, and my wild youthful ways... Instead of going Rouge, when slighted, and turn the house of the Slighter, into Match Sticks, I learned there are better ways to extract Justice... That kept me out of Jail until I had a chance to “Grow Up”
Oh, I still get the URGE, but now I have Family, and responsibilities...

Started at 7 after seeing Billy Jack and stayed with various forms until my late 40's. I still do a morning Kata to loosen up for the day and direct my Chi. It actually kept me from having to fight growing up.
