CERN is the one making claims that it was a "mock" sacrifice. How do we know they are telling the truth? Have the Swiss police done an investigation?

Well that's the whole thing with being a 'scientist' if ya ask me, messing with crap you know nothing about. And won't know anything about it because you don't think outside the lab.

Arrogant scientists?? Religion....actually wants folks to believe that demons, devils, daemons, djins and other supernatural entities exist....they are an indispensable part of the world view of many religions and cults..... And the empirical evidence for these occultic energies???

FALSE: Human Sacrifice Captured at CERN

Yes, there is a statue of Shiva on the CERN grounds....which seems to worry some theists, for some unaccountable reason. As to the actors and filmcrew....seems like some frat-boys with too little to do, but feed conspiracy theorists...well done....for it seems that they have succeeded, with minimal effort.

I guess we ought to just go back to the good ol' days before antibiotics....when prayer was a particularly ineffective way of treating many bacterial infections....messing about with the unknown is what scientists do, for in so doing, they add to the sum of knowledge of what becomes to be known. ....Messing about with the unknowable....that's for the god peddlers.

There are many things that "science" does not understand or know...

it has not been all that long since the discovery of atomic/nuclear type radiation...

and for a time I'm sure there were some that said it was so much poppycock or some such...

seems like they finally find a way to prove the existence and measure something and they start tryin to explain it...

often as not they got to back track or change stuff cause they had it wrong or misunderstood what was what...

point being they do NOT know how to measure some things YET...

and far too many things that are STILL THEORY and therefore UNPROVEN are taken by some as absolute fact...

Well, they didn't open with the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram and the sacrifice wasn't real. Therefore, nothing could have taken place besides entertainment.

You're way out of your league by pointing fingers and making accusations about "messing with forces" --especially for those who do not understand the magical arts in the first place. It would be like claiming that Gordan Ramsay favors a microwaved dinner and you caught him feasting on a Hungry Man on holiday. That's just not going to ever happen. But, it sure can make the religious folks a little worried. Hence, the entertainment value.

    DKR Interesting ideas, interesting stories

    CERN staff have:
    Given the world:
The 1984 Nobel Prize for Physics was awarded to Carlo Rubbia and Simon van der Meer for the developments that resulted in the discoveries of the W and Z bosons. The 1992 Nobel Prize for Physics was awarded to CERN staff researcher Georges Charpak "for his invention and development of particle detectors, in particular the multiwire proportional chamber."

All of this for a partly investment of 200+ billion and 1B a year in operational costs. Impact on the average Joe's life in a positive way? Zip
If I was an EU taxpayer, I'd would be pi$$ed off.

The bubble chamber was named Gargamelle? Wasn't that the name of the bad guy on the Smurfs?

Nah, Gargamelle, was a madam at a German brothel in Munich who could yodel while she was .............. aw never mind, you wouldn't believe it unless you had been there to see and hear it. Bubbles was her prodigy who took over control of the establishment after Gargamelle retired and became Wild Willy Clinton's mistress. [LMAO][touchdown]I swear [bow].... would I lie?

Unfortunately, there are many, like yourself who do not understand what the scientific method Scientific method - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia of investigation is and how it works....nor do you seem to understand the difference between a scientific theory Scientific Theory, and a colloquial "hunch".

A scientific theory is not like a mathematical "proof". The findings of a scientific theory are always subject to revision, as more information related to the theory is discovered. Additional evidence may either serve to strengthen the validity of the theory, or refute it....thereby inviting a different hypothesis for an observed phenomenon, and a new theory to explain it. Science doesn't deal with absolute certainties....but it is the best method that humanity has developed so far, for coming closer to certainty about truth claims.

I am aware of how it works... what you show in your post is what amounts to an educated guess...

it may be close to reality... then again it may be way off...

the entire system you are showing here rest on what is known or what science THINKS it knows...

that is what a theory is... it may be very educated and calculated and scientific n what not...

but it is still a GUESS based on... in some cases other THEORIES...

there have been MANY recent discoveries that have blown giant holes in some older theories...

you wanna trust and educated guess go for it... a true scientist will often say right from the get go...

there is actually MORE that we do NOT know then we do know... and they keep a open mind...

example... soft tissue is supposed to completely degenerate within about 3,000 years...

some recent fossil discoveries that are SUPPOSED to be over 100,000 years old have... SOFT TISSUE...

somebody got something very wrong somewhere... with a THEORY...

If there is a US$ to be made from the discoveries of basic science at CERN via applied science in corporate laboratories, or in academia.....there will be gadgets based on the discoveries coming to you via television product marketing shows (as endorsed by Oprah!)

Useless research - an expensive waste of time?

The discovery of microwave energy may not have had any immediate practical application....but it "almost"
an indispensible feature of dayly life around the world.

Never said such would not be the case... science and learning are good... many wonderful things have come from such...

said there is much they do NOT know... and can not know... YET...

for a time they knew radiation from some material was there... only later did they find a way to measure it...

the reason so many things remain THEORY is... they are intelligent enough to realize they don't actually KNOW... YET
