Cyber attack: Latest evidence indicates 'phishing' emails not to blame for global hack Those are very small numbers compared to what the news was saying. It sounded like countries were crippled but over 200,000 computers on Friday is really minimal. Makes me wonder what they are diverting our attention from.
as we said this is way more widespread than initially reported 150 plus countries hit over 300,000 PCs infected it could grow to 1-2mil plus info provided by a company that tracks malware see map on page 2
Yes, I read that and have seen the map. I also saw this morning that 2.0 was supposed to start soon. The article I linked above states that they do not think e-mails were to blame.
We got hit on 05/01/17. They got in thru either me, Mike or our other network administrator Barry. They encrypted all our files. The good news is we has very good backups with redundancy and off site storage. We only los 30 daya of one data file. The bad news is we have about 100 man hours invested and we had to upgrade a total of 8 of our network computers but just the old ones running XP. It also forced us to put extra effort into strong passwords and new network procedures. It's been expensive but it could have been so much worse. And, we have all gotten so much more cautious. Today Mike got an email from ghrit......I told him to delete because ghr it would not email him.
Normally, no, but in this case I did ==== Just jabbing at a typo on the Sadlak site ==== "Piscataway" Suggested he round you up and put you to work fixing it.
I sent this to FedEX after I knew it was not what it appeared. FedEX never answered and maybe never read my email to them. And of course I never downloaded the item they wanted me to.
