Snapping turtle hibernating under the ice. I sure wouldn't want to tangle with one that size in the summer. I've seen smaller ones push right under chain link fences without breaking stride.

 

We once caught a smaller one and brought it to an little old lady down Bayou Dularge.
The next day the grandson invited me back to taste maw-maws turtle that was browned down in a roux and served over rice.
That was probably one of the top 5 finest meals I have ever eaten....
The lil old lady was born and raised on Dularge and didn't speak a word of English.
She did understand our many Thanks for her fantastic cooking !!!

I know what you mean Gator,,, my grandma could cook a cooter stew that ya couldn’t leave the table till the pot was cleaned out. She never had leftovers of that.

 

Without water these are cruel and unusual punishment.

I wonder if Earl Scruggs has that effect on cattle when he was learning to pick the banjo?

I'll have to see how my singing works on the neighbors cows. I know it'll stop dogs in their tracks and will get my cats so worked up they all want to climb up on my shoulders. Haven't tried it on coyotes yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if they'd wander right up and sit down to listen.

 

This is my third double yolk egg in two days. I think the hens are out to get me. Killing me slowly with cholesterol.
