That pretty much sums up how all of our midnight skiing went in Norway.
It never got really dark, but many of the trails curved out of sight before they
reached the bottom of a hill. We did the best we could on those NATO planks
they called skis. There was no flat and level, so It was all either slow side step
climbing up hills or waiting until the cursing and laughter died down to send the
next man down a hill. Funny thing was, when it was time to go, the whole
platoon went. Nobody wanted to miss the "fun."
