But, at twelve I was the family "armorer", could strip, clean and lube all the family guns, had stripped and rebuilt my bycycle and the motor on Dad's first lawn tractor, and was fast learning basic carpentry, plumbing and house wiring under Dad's watchful eye.
Today's twelve year olds can do wonders with a digital device but are lost when something mechanical breaks down.

 

Depending on how the other person acts, I can go either way.
