Motivational Poster Thread (warning content)

Actually, in my US Navy tech training at Great Mistakes, I was assigned to working party detail between two schools, a two week hiatus. The Navy never leaves young squids to themselves. So they gathered us and asked for volunteers. In a fit of insanity, I actually volunteered, not know what it was for. CHATCHING! I was put on a midnight cleaning detail in the "A School" building where my next school would be. For two weeks we cleaned rooms and waxed/polished floors at night. If we were there more than two hours it was a hard night. I could sleep in for the morning muster. The Company Commander would open my room door and ask if I was "present". I'd mumble "yeah', and he'd leave me alone. I had the day free. Best voluntary duty I ever had!

 

Beans without chili is chip dip. Gotta have beans to give it some body.

 

Think about it for a minute. Chili was food for poor people and poor people have access to beans not beef. Beans are cheap, easy to grow and store for years, but hundreds of pounds of beef goes-off real fast, especially in Mexico and Texas, and is expensive. Beef in your chili was a rare treat for most people until modern times.

 

As I recall "it" somehow ended up on her infamous blue dress.
