It's called "Hops", European beers use a lot of them and American beers don't. It's an acquired taste.

 

I remembered it had multiple uses back in the 70s ,,,

 

I have a vivid imagination backed by knowing how each smells.

 

I never was much of a beer drinker. Don't like wine or whyskey either. Basically I just don't care for alcoholic drinks. I can drink to be sociable, but don't make a habit of it. Though I do favor a wee dram of Drambouie on occasion.

 

I was in the liquor business for 40 years, and people are surprised how little I drink. I haven't been drunk since my 20s, I just don't like losing control. I like beer and whiskey, but just a little dab will do me. I started out drinking American beers (Bud, Bud Light, Miller Lite, Coors, and Coors Light) but now drink craft, seasonal and a few European beers. Traditional American beers are great with food, and I'll drink almost anything that's offered, but one or two and I'm done. Just this week I finished the last of a 12-pk. of Sam Adams Octoberfest. As for whiskey, you can't beat Wild Turkey.
