I was at Lowes one day,, walked at the contractors end,,, there was Joe blo stacking a bunch of sheets of Luan on the top of his SUV ,,, and tying it down with that nylon string the big box stores offer you to tie down your loads .
I was gonna offer help ,, but got a fuk off look from the SUV driver.
So I walk in ,, grab what I went in for ,, pay,, and go to my truck ,, drive out on the road ,, and the 1st light I get to ,, is those 2 Joe blo's picking up sheets of Luan off the street ,, and stacking it back on top of the car .
I've wondered before ,, if he ever got any of it home ,, and how far he was going with it .

 

Or, I was thinking the obvious choice - dredge away that entire spit sticking up narrowing the chokepoint, open the straight up much wider. Too logical, I guess.

Take the dirt and build a new port somewhere, or an airport. Naha airport in Okinawa, Japan went from 191 to 91 in international airport ratings in a single year (1991) after they literally moved a mountain from central Okinawa (Motobu) and trucked it thirty miles south to Naha to build the second runway where there had only been water and coral reef.
