Learn a lesson from Lawn chair Larry. Practice knot tying, buy quality cordage and dummy cord all your gear on.
Larry had his lawn chair tied to his truck...but the rope broke. His weather balloons lifted him 16,000 feet and he drifted right into controlled airspace over LAX. Commercial airline pilots reported seeing a guy at their altitude in a lawn chair. He used his CB to report that he had reached 16,000 feet, and that he was freezing at that altitude. At 16,500 feet he used his pellet pistol to shoot seven of the balloons, but dropped it.

He eventually descended and crashed onto a roof and got tangled in power lines in Long Beach.
