Full Disclosure: Nearly fifty years ago, I was a regular international border crosser. Nothing I brought over the border ever got me in more hot water than "That Woman." We've been married almost forty years and have known each other for 50+. She's always been "That Woman" to me.
U.S. Customs officials didn't see the humor in it when they asked who that was in the car, and I answered "That Woman?" Between the long expired plates on the car, (They matched the color and covered the gas cap. That was my only concern.) The car, clearly named "Seldon Seen" on the trunk lid in scarlet and gold like a Marine Corps guidon, had a pile of old license plates in the trunk that caused quite a stir. They'd belonged to this car and others I'd owned, but it was clear I "had some " 'splaining to do." It wasn't until I realized that the plates were
the main issue, that I brushed the snow off the back window to show the officer the temporary paper license plate stuck there, in accordance with the instructions printed on it. Overall, it took us about an hour in the freezing cold to get back into the U.S. after a quick trip to a Provincial beer store in Sarnia. I think it was the only trip I ever made back across the border that I wasn't asked if I had "Any bottles?" or "Any Liquor?" If I'd known having a woman in the car removed that scrutiny I could've taken some female passengers, like barefoot Peggy, along and avoided a lot of stress when the old Pontiac looked like it was dragging its' ass with a trunk full of racks of Molson's, Dorans and Northern Ale in cans.

 

That's one of those Multifunction Smart Devices. Very convenient, but the yearly operating costs will break you financially.
