I'll be the first to admit - you just don't see these old beauties running thru mud puddles or fording streams... Just too valuable as a collector item. Still...

My first 4X4, was a 1955 Dodge Power Wagon Panel Truck that I bought from a Cascade Mountain School District, that used it for a School Bus... It had Washington State Private School Bus Plates on it, for the first 5 Years I owned it... I used to park it in Bus Zones in Seattle, until they changed the State Statute, and forced me to reRegister it as a Truck. It had a Flathead Six, 3 Speed Tranny with Granny Gear, 2 Gear TransferCase, with PTO Winch on the Front, and 4.88 & 4.89 Limited Slip Differentials. It had a 10USG Fuel Tank, and got 10MPG @ 55MPH, Maximum Speed, UpHill, DownHill, Headwind, or TailWind...Courted AlaskaChick in that Truck. I think she married me for the Truck... Sold it to a Buddy, who owned a Pear Farm in E. Washington, after the engine Spun a Main Bearing.... I believe it is still running on the farm, today... First Love, but not near as comfortable as our 2006 White Toyota 4X4 Pickup we have now....
