Bullit is up there on my list.

Mad Max is number one for me, now you know why I have my car as my avatar.

I don't know if it is the best car chase ever, but it sure set the standard high for more than two decades.

When off active duty I bought a '68 Charger R/T. 390 hp off the show room floor. Soon traded with a lady for a 4 speed, added two 650 carbs, head work, Crane cam, lightened the crank, high comp pistons, and added Cragar slotted mags sporting Radial T/As. Had a tag painted for the front "MOVER". Mounted switches on a panel to switch off tail/brake lights and a few other crazy things. Sure wish I had the money for the gasoline I put through those carbs--lol. Sold it right after getting married--big mistake. The gent that wrote the first six pilots for the Dukes of Hazzard lived about ten miles from me and he was crazy about my wheels. Accused him of using it and told him he should have shared his bounty--fat chance. As for "musrats"(mustangs)--used to eat them for breakfast--top end or drag.

If you wanna see a car chase scene, find a copy of the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" that's a chase scene.I think it lasted about 45 minutes. From 1972 or thereabouts.

Just bout and watched "Hang Em High" yesterday. Well worth the $6. I saw "The Outlaw Josey Wales" a couple weeks back and it made me realized something very, very, very important.

    Clint Eastwood is the man!!!

One of my favorite 'car chase' scenes was the movie "The Italian Job" with Michael Caine - three wee Fiats buzzing through the twisty streets of Rome after a bank heist, the police hot on their heals. Funny bit when they all three pull onto a Fiat sales lot, and the cops go by, not seeing the trees for the forest.......

Not a lot of horsepower, but a fun romp! ;)
