BlackBettyPreps Im on Youtube too !

I took this photo yesterday and made a video on my EDC and posted it on youtube

    My EDC Knife

My Applegate & fairbairn Gerber Combat folder

Long story short I took a knife fighting course on the Applegate styled knives
and I liked emm soo much . When i saw this knife I had to have it

In the future I would love to have the back side of this blade professionally sharpened
So that it is a little more efficient on a backstroke .
I have more photos if you guys are interested

nice knife, but it would get me arrested here. (rule of palm) there is a max length of blade allowed here (Ohio) and a quick rule of thumb for it. exposed blade can not exceed the width of your palm. My throwing knives can have only one sharp edge, and I'm not sure if my boot knife is a problem or not (being double edged) but it is an old friend, and we get along well together. 1038-f50d0d5eb901f9e8a4e21e9d33cf75d3.

The flea-market find would do nicely as a Faraday-Cage, for all your post SHTF electronics. 38" X 7" locking cylinder would bury all the radios, batteries, flashlights, and assorted car electronics parts, needed in case of a EMP or solar event. you could fill any voids with ammo.

Rules smoolz.... if we did everything "they" demanded of us we would all be slaves by now.... If it works for you carry it. If you get caught with it then you deal with it as you may, but if needed, you have the tool of choice in your defense... nuf said..

Nice looking knife! I used to have a Gerber fixed blade with a similar blade profile that had no serrations...not a big fan of serrations on the primary cutting edge myself. Didn't much like the steel it was made from either. Not sure what it was but it wouldn't hold an edge for crap. I can't find any mention of what steel the blade on that Applegate is made of so it makes me wonder. Did it come with a spec sheet that mentions the blade steel? I see they offer the Covert ver in 154CM with the TiNi coating for another $12 but hmmmm those serrations... Not the worst of the blade steels; low maint. stainless that keeps a fair edge but on my Benchmade HK 14250 Tanto the slight concave curve in the primary cutting edge makes it a PITA to maintain! But I guess in a knife that's more designed to stick into soft pasty fleshed MZB's it probably performs rather superbly!

Oh and cool find on the shell case! That thing looks like it would make a nice cache. Does it have a good rubber seal?

The second amendment says "The right to keep and bear ARMS shall not be infringed". It doesn't say fireARMS but all ARMS. Any supposed "law" that bars someone from bearing the knife of their choice is a direct violation of the constitution and therefore invalid and no law at all. So don't obey the damn law. Unconstitutional laws are only good if the sheep follow them. Refuse to follow!!
We moan and groan and wring our hands over the loss of liberty in this country yet we meekly go along with freedom depriving, liberty stealing measures while we do. Enough!!!
CARPE LIBERTAS!!!! You have all the liberty, all the freedom, all the rights that you take, that you seize. No one, no government, can take your rights from you. They may take your freedom but they can never take your rights.
I carry my firearm and my edged weapon anywhere I choose to go, at anytime I choose to go and I don't give a damn what any federal, state, or local "law" says I can or cannot do. I can do whatever I choose to do, and I choose to be a free man, exercising my free, God given, inalienable rights. The second amendment is my permit to carry and it supersedes any and all federal, state or local laws.
I'm sorry for the rant but it makes me sick to hear supposedly free people in a supposedly free land say "I'm not allowed", "it isn't permitted", "we can't own that where I live".
It wasn't allowed for our forefathers to dump tea in Boston Harbour, they weren't permitted to resist the order to surrender their weapons at Lexington. They were free men exercising their right to be free, they seized liberty.

True enough, but my finances would not cover my bail-bond, while I fight the good fight.
As the sole bread winner, with a mortgage, family, one kid in college and a second going this fall, it would be foolish to go looking for a fight that would hurt my kids education.
My kids have both worked very hard on their grades. Much harder than I did. I will not throw that away for them while looking for a fight.

Much like a deed restriction, or a zoning law, some other places have restrictions of one type or another. While I may not agree with them, I chose to live there. There are things you accept because it is practical to do so, and things you fight regardless of the cost. An inch of blade length is not worth the cost of the fight. I will simply carry two.;)

Your canister looks very much like those used to hold powder charges for major caliber artillery. Those that I have had exposure to had a seal of sorts, but were not truly water or air tight and thus would not be suitable for direct burial and cache usage without some sort of improvised final sealing. just sayin'
    BTW, I like the knife.

Sorry for the temporary hijack of your cool knife thread BBP! Please don't take a fence.

Same here, mine was a "Boot" knife and the point would bend way to easy.

Boot knives should be super tough as they are a last ditch weapon.

Kershaw makes my current Boot Knife.

    One piece cast stainless.

"The Kershaw Military Boot Knife model 4351 is a 9 inch fixed blade made from 1.4116 German molybdenum-vanadium stainless steel. The blade has been bead blasted to a non-reflective matte gray color, and the handle has been outfitted with rivited POM scales for good grip. This military knife comes with a hard sheath and a nylon strap for mounting on your flack jacket, leg, or arm. "

Still have the GERBERS, they set in the safe.
