Alabama has 600,000 units of Tamaflu stockpiled for a population of 5,000,000, you think that's enough. http://www.cdc.gov/eid/content/14/1/95.htm Pandemic Influenza and pregency. http://www.cdc.gov/eid/content/13/11/1714.htm Hospitals function during Pandemic influenza if "Strong decision makeing rules used" http://www.cdc.gov/eid/content/14/1/121.htm Regular flu shots give some protection from H5N1
Thanks for the info Does anyone have any idea of the dosage of Tamiflu needed for one person? You can buy them in my area in capsule form - 75mg each x 10 capsules. Would these be enough for one? Buying too few is a waste of time, buying too many can get very expensive.
OK never mind - I found the answer. If anyone os interested a pdf can be downloaded from here: http://medguides.medicines.org.uk/document.aspx?name=Tamiflu&use=Influenza
Fatality Management/Mortuary Services Conference Series Mass fatality events can occur any day and often result from floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, multiple vehicle accidents, fires, droughts and other natural disasters. However, mass fatalities can also occur as a result of human intervention – such as school, mall and church shootings, terrorist attacks or a pandemic influenza outbreak. Fatality management operational planning for a pandemic needs to begin in all counties of Alabama. The Department of Health & Human Services estimates that in a severe pandemic, approximately 28,500 individuals would die in Alabama. This is in addition to the estimated 1.3 million who will be ill. Each county should assume that a pandemic will reach their county and plan now.
