what is the difference between the two? Is Todays Posts a subset of New Posts or the other way around? thanks in advance.
From my observations: Today's Posts shows threads that contain posts with today's date. New Posts shows threads that contain posts between the time you visited last to the time you hit the New Posts link. If you haven't been here since 3 days ago, the New Posts will show posts from all 3 days while Today's Posts will show just today. If you were just here 3 hours ago, New Posts will show only those from the last 3 hours while Today's Posts will show all of today.
'Bout right. I haven't checked for sure, but I believe Today's Posts are within the last 24 hours, not necessarily today's date. Mostly, I think this because we span quite a few time zones. (Gotta remember to check that some evening.)
