Just ordered 16 radios and a new repeater for my plant. We went with the MOTOTRBO XPR 6550.

These things are digital trunking units with VOIP, TXT Message capability, IP to Landline/Mobile phone etc.

I'm hoping I can configure the system to reach me via radio should I fail to answer my mobile. THis will allow me to stay in the woods even longer each week!

Oh yeah, they also have GPS tracking that will plot on a Google Map.

Don't forget the charger rack in the office for swap outs.

I have two 6 bank units on order and they are now 'smart' so they won't cook the batteries when left charging.

Power biz, must be good these days.... How much time did you spend looking for the system?

Not much. I'm pretty much duplicating a system I've used at another site and using one of my corporate approved vendors.
