The nominees for the next bum to be be seated on the papal throne will be interesting....there can't be many cardinals that aren't carrying some baggage relating to protecting predatory priests (paedophile and otherwise) and lay persons, and whitewashing sexual scandals in the church from public scrutiny. Popes who start on a reformist agenda don't seem to live very long...conservative, reactionary Popes seem to live much longer.
