Anyone see this? It's a horrible thing when someone dies, regardless of the situation. But, I like this law, and feel that all states should have it. Opinions? No-back down law situation.
I'm not so sure that the law is needed beyond a reinforcement of the obvious right to protect oneself. Always good to have that as additional defense clarification. I don't get this statement from the article. "The shoot-first law is not needed," said Brian Malte of the Brady Campaign. "This person, regardless of the situation, may have done the right thing, but he cannot be prosecuted for doing something wrong if he hit an innocent bystander," he said. I can't tell from that if he is supporting doing the right thing from the perspective of the 2A or just complaining because it does support 2A.
Kansas now has a no retreat law. Feel comfortble about shooting someone in my house without having to worry about collecting the family up and running away before I can shoot.
