Only guns I have on my "insurance" are also on the NFA registery. Although I'm a few silencers an SBR and a grenade launcher behind in updating my insurance.

I have seen two gun safes after a house fire. Both survived intact, but the guns inside were useless, and the cash and papers in one of them had turned to black char. Both had water in them.

Don't use spray paint. That stuff fades quickly into or off of PVC. Suddenly there is a piece of sewer pipe in the tree. Believe me, I know.
Document safes are cement lined to vent steam during a fire. Gun safes dont do this as it steam cleans the guns so they lack fire protection. Glue a double layer of sheetrock inside your gun safe to add fire protection.
