I am an old monkey and have issues with Psoriasis. its on my lower legs, elbows and arms and is to the point that it is cracking a bleeding.

I have tried all of the prescription topicals with out any luck.

There is a photothearpy treatment using narrow band UV light.

Philips makes these lights and you can see it here http://www.lighting.philips.com/b-d...s/final-phototherapy-brochure-us_oct-2014.pdf

The light in question is this one
    Philips UVB Narrowband PL-S 9W/01 1.2 60 0.17 G23 6x10 Box 9279 017 001 21 392027

I have the light but can not find the appropriate fixture for it for 120V US.
I bought a this but it came with a 220V plug on it.

I bought standard Philips PL-S bulbs to test it and I fried the first one using a 110 to 220 travel adapter.

The real UV lights are $60 each and the standard one are $5.

So I need some help in locating a US 110/120 volt fixture to make this work.

I can find these available but I am trying not to spend $250+ on the device.

Had psoriasis all my life. Embil injections finally cleared it up but nearly destroyed my liver. Instead of a dermatologist, start seeing a rhumotologist. If you aren't already bothered by arthritis, you will be soon and several of the arthritis medications they prescribe will help with the inflammation and scaling.

UncleMorgan I like peeling bananas and (occasionally) people.

No help on the lights, but two suggestions:

Try a topical cream called "Say Yes to Carrots!". You can find it at Walmart.

Lay a little Google-fu on "Bob Beck electromagnetic therapy". I've seen such devices help with amazing things, including Psoriasis.

Uncle Jake took baths in strong Clorox water that helped keep his at bay.

Bag balm will not cure Psoriasis but will help. As for the photo-therapy, never heard of it being used for skin conditions. Very interesting thread.
