Democrat Calls For Gun Confiscation, Suggests Nuking Americans Who Fight Back

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) caused a firestorm on Friday when he suggested using nuclear weapons against American citizens who oppose his far-left gun control agenda, which includes forcing Americans to give up their semi-automatic weapons.

Swalwell made the comment in response to a May news article on his radical plan that was widely recirculated on Twitter on Friday in which he called for a $15 billion government program to confiscate millions of guns from Americans.

So basically @RepSwalwell wants a war. Because that’s what you would get. You’re outta your fucking mind if you think I’ll give up my rights and give the gov all the power. John Cardillo on Twitter

    — Joe Biggs (@Rambobiggs) November 16, 2018
Swalwell responded to the tweet by writing: "And it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit. I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities."

And it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit. I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities.

    — Rep. Eric Swalwell (@RepSwalwell) November 16, 2018
Swalwell's remark set off a firestorm online:

“You don’t need AR-15s because the government isn’t tyrannical, and, anyway, if you try to stop us taking them we will nuke you” is my favorite of all the gun control talking points.

    — Charles C. W. Cooke (@charlescwcooke) November 16, 2018
AR-15s are so dangerous that we must nuke gun owners to confiscate them

    — Kyle Kashuv (@KyleKashuv) November 16, 2018
You assume that members of our combined forces would follow unconstitutional orders, and take up arms against citizens of the United States. Short war indeed. .cc @DLoesch @KyleKashuv

    — Matthew Kolken (@mkolken) November 16, 2018
Personally, I have a bigger problem with an elected official blithely talking about nuking his fellow Americans than my neighbor owning an AR-15. But YMMV. Rep. Eric Swalwell on Twitter

    — Cam Edwards (@CamEdwards) November 16, 2018
I'm stunned there were enough sheep to vote so this guy ended up with a "Rep" in front of his name. The U.S. government is now going to nuke.......get this........its own people. Rep. Eric Swalwell on Twitter

    — Pat Miletich (@patmiletich) November 16, 2018
It must not be against @Twitter TOS to casually insinuate that it’s better to give up our guns than die in a thermo-nuclear blast at the hands of the U.S. gov’t.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Rep. Eric Swalwell on Twitter

    — Conservative Review (@CR) November 16, 2018
This is the best argument I've seen in a while why I will never give one gun. It's scumbags like this who want to take them. Rep. Eric Swalwell on Twitter

    — Dan Gainor (@dangainor) November 16, 2018
"If you don't turn over your guns, we'll nuke you" is definitely a reasonable argument to make. Rep. Eric Swalwell on Twitter

    — Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) November 16, 2018
What the hell is this? Is this guy insane? Rep. Eric Swalwell on Twitter

    — Dan Bongino (@dbongino) November 16, 2018
Eric Swalwell is simply an idiot who has built a large social media #Resistance following by being the member of Congress willing to issue the most inflammatory, reckless & extreme decrees about Trump/Russia: the easiest way to get noticed in Dem politics:

    — Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) November 16, 2018
Swalwell later confirmed in a tweet to the NRA's Dana Loesch that he wants to confiscate all semi-automatic weapons:

She’s not lying. We should ban assault weapons by buying them back or restricting them to ranges/clubs. #EnoughIsEnough Dana Loesch on Twitter

    — Rep. Eric Swalwell (@RepSwalwell) November 16, 2018
Swalwell later argued that if a firearm contains a pistol grip then that somehow magically makes the weapon more powerful:

Fair question. Rifles. They’re more powerful and cause more carnage when used with a pistol-grip. See @ScottPelley @60Minutes piece. To reduce semi-auto pistol deaths I’d have universal background checks and mandatory reporting on mental health.

But if he feels that strongly about collecting them ,,,then I'd suggest he carry his happy ass to my front door and collect them. And don't chicken out by sending someone else to do the job you're trying to enforce. Lead by example asshole.

if 2A is permantly embodied it's a HUGE victory for the GOP and Prez Trump's agenda - almost certainly a vote consolidation across 40 of the 52 states - another dagger into the 2020 DNC vote ....

What tripe. It appears he knows as much about nukes as he does about semi-auto ARs. I am wondering how he is going to explain the collateral damage, fallout, and etc. that comes with even using a small tactical nuke?

Too late:....The person pictured, Roberts Ancans, a loyal American citizen, died in New York, in 1982.

I understand the impulse of some to vilify Eric Swalwell, by associating him with some random 'assumed' nazi villain from Pinterest central casting...and for that reason, I'm calling Godwins Law Godwin's Law - RationalWiki on the use of that particular image. The reason Roberts Ancans was probably smiling was probably more the fact that he had survived both the Kholm Kholm Pocket - Wikipedia and Kurland Courland Pocket - Wikipedia pockets (albeit badly wounded) , and had been awarded the Knight's Cross for his courage, and leadership, in leading his infantry company in combat in the Kurland pocket.

    Unlike this poodle faker
whose fruit salad includes a medal for "neatness and order"

Ancans fought in the Latvian Legion (19th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (2nd Latvian)) after Soviet Russia's first occupation of Latvia during WW2. He and others fought principally for the defence of their own country (Latvija) against the Russian communists. Although some volunteered, most were conscripted into the German war machine with varying degrees of reluctance.

    His biography is interesting:
Ancans emigrated to the USA in the mid 1950's, worked as an engineering draftsman, and kept his nose clean according to intelligence reports, raising a family in his adopted country, the USA until he died in 1982 at the age of 62. Incidentally, Roberts Ancans was about 26 when that portrait was taken of him. In comparing Swalwell, with Ancans, Swalwell is being compared with a patriot, who had demonstrated considerable personal courage and leadership in time of war...a decidedly complimentary comparison if anything.

Yes, my search engine sometimes cries....but sometimes, it also smiles with enormous satisfaction.

Fair enough. The principle still holds. Swallowswell is still a traitorous slime-bag that needs a nice quick execution for Treason and explicitly violating his oath of office.

I would like to think this Rep. Eric Swalwell probably used the term 'nuke' in slang in that the government would drop upon the gun-holders like 10 tons of poop, utterly destroying them, and also to get exactly the type of publicity and response he got - exactly. But, if not, then it shows his true uncompromising, authoritarian mindset...

I do hope someone, somewhere is keeping a list for a personal invite of these people to attend the guillotine party when all this comes to a head. (EDIT: Just realized I made a bit of silly pun here LOL!)

Reference the photo of the Nazi officer... Much of the SS got a bad wrap and were dealt with totally unfairly. The photo shows this guy was the real deal by deeds not by words, a patriot, a Combat Infantry Badge and Iron Cross 1st class and 2nd. The Soviet Union invaded his country and he joined those that gave him the best chance to defend since the weak-kneed Allies wouldn't say 'Boo!' to the USSR, not even when they invaded Poland with Hitler. But, they couldn't let Hitler's new social and economic reforms spread. Oh, no! Better to give USSR half of Europe than allow that...sometimes history sickens me, especially when they lie to you from childhood about it. I am glad this man lived and got to America as I am sure he was as much an American patriot as he was an Latvian patriot and, without a doubt, he was a warrior.

Seems as though this fool has violated his sworn oath of office, to uphold and defend the US Constitution. Because of this, he should be removed from office. Forcibly, if necessary.

In other words, if he resists....NUKE HIM.(y)
