http://www.myfoxny.com/story/19139331/nypd-to-launch-surveillance-software-system-to-track-crime There are no potential terrorists...you either are one or you are not. What this means is "Everyone is a potential terrorist...therefore, everyone will be under surveillance." This kind of crap, plus the mag/ammo ban....plus ALL of the other liberal BS....what will it take for people to say ENOUGH!!
I actually hope they make frequent and bold pronouncements like this combined with their other recent invasions into people's personal choices. If they bundle enough closely together, people may begin to get the message that if they don't individually and collectively say "NO," more and more of their rights and liberties will be eroded away. When these statements are spaced too far apart, people adapt to a simple change and then forget about it when another comes along. Keep 'em coming fast and furious and maybe the citizens will react. Since we all know it isn't going to stop without some type of revolt by the population, I hope the population gets the message as soon as possible
Erm, have you seen the kids coming out of school these days? They love the 'It's for our security and safety' BS. They look at you like you have a third eye when you talk about liberty and freedom. These dolts are going to be the next generation of leaders. Pardon my french, but we are fucking doomed.
Yup. I just caught a glimpse of a newscast about 2 teenaged boys when I was at work. As it turns out, these two have graduated high school and left the next day to undertake a trip across the country on a bicycle and a skateboard. Their message to the world is, "what do we need guns for?" and "all guns do is create more fear." This is the mentality we are up against.
Thing is, a lot of favorite activities are under attack from various directions. Take motorcycles, 4wd explorers, and ATVs as another example, the BLM and forestry services in cahoots with envirowhackos are trying to close national parks to anything but the walking elites. Overstated, but only slightly. Now, if we could form a few alliances with other similar groups under attack, just imagine ---
The few people I know in NYC think like that. They are so wrapped up in NYC they have no idea what life is like in normal America. All they know outside of NYC are other major cities and resorts. The only thing a new yorker understands is money. As long as they can get a grandfathered sub-sub-sub-sub-lease at 1975 rate, take in a show and have a job to play the market they are happy. No concept of liberty, guns for defense, hunting, or responsibility for their own survival.
NYC people will not get it, but there are many in the rest of the country who will see what is planned for them coming. Time to accept that some places simply need to be written off as losses.
RightHand I remember Plato's Allegory of the Cave. In college had to look it up for an article for the school paper. And as for NYC, to me it's kinda like San Francisco. They claim to be against discrimination cause people have the right to live how they want, and their answer to provide a 'safe city' is to tell people they can't live how they want.
1984 is correct. Big Brother cares about your well-being. He will watch over you and help you from harming yourself. All is well citizen.
In a sense. As long as you never have to be re-educated all will be well. Once you question they system you will be tortured into submission. Once you love big brother you can no longer be martyred and you will be disposed of.
Totally off topic but a cross country trip on a skateboard sounds like it would have been a blast when I was 18.
Weren't skateboards when you were 18 made from cheap plastic and measured about 7" wide, wobbled and were pretty much useless?
When I was 14, I made my OWN skateboard, out of an abandoned Roller Skate, that my older sister had left behind, when she went to college. Took it apart, and nailed the two parts, to the ends, on the bottom, of a 24" long, Hard wood plank, 8" wide.... Still had the original Steel Wheels, on the trucks.... ......
We all know Big Brother cares and wouldn't want anything in return. It's getting scarier and more insane out there. Remember I posted a long time back about San Fran having those microphones and cameras up for the protection of the citizens. What's next? Cameras installed in our homes because me might have to be protected against paper cuts or straining our backs? I hate waiting for the other shoe to drop. I need to find that reset switch. It would be better for me than stressing with every inch they take. The bad part of stress is not having an outlet for it.
Waist measurements on the way in and repeat on the way out. That should employ a slew of those unemployed.
