Offut afb addedto brac list if Nebraska senator won't votefor healthcare bill. White House Threatens to Close Offutt Air Force Base If Nelson Doesn’t Vote for Obamacare Posted on December 15, 2009 Quite an explosive leak! I wonder how this will affect things? It is certainly a thuggish and dangerous thing for Obama to play with National Security over this craptacular idea of socialized medicine. Quite a desperate move.According to a Senate aide, the White House is now threatening to put Nebraska’s Offutt Air Force Base on the BRAC list if Nelson doesn’t fall into line. Offutt Air Force Base employs some 10,000 military and federal employees in Southeastern Nebraska. As our source put it, this is a “naked effort by Rahm Emanuel andthe White House to extort Nelson’s vote.” They are “threatening to close a base vital to national security for what?” asked the Senate staffer. Indeed, Offutt is the headquarters for US Strategic Command, the successor to Strategic Air Command, and not by accident. STRATCOM was located in the middle of the country for strategic reasons. Its closure would be a massive blow to the economy of the state of Nebraska, but it would also be another example of this administration playing politics with ournational security. So much for the idea of Obama trying to save jobs and improve the economy! Without Nelson’s vote, since all Republicans are still in line to oppose this, Reid is still left with 59 votes. So, some arm twisting is taking place. Nelson doesn’t want this bill to fund abortions so he is now being threatened, andnational security along with him. How shameful this would be if Democrats felt shame. Ed Morrissey:The Obama administration has little left to use for leverage. Why not national security? After all, if we’re going to bring terrorists into Illinois, what does it matter if we put the US Strategic Command on wheels for a few years? http://www.stoptheaclu.com/2009/12/...rce-base-if-nelson-doesnt-vote-for-obamacare/ offut AFB is headquarters STRATCOM( SAC's bastard child) sounds like exhtortion!Using the nations security..
I wonder if Glenn Beck will last much longer.... As he referred to it as "treasonable". This could get quite interesting! Either or, it's BAD......
If bobo and crew pull this off, they will have an immediate 10,000 votes going to the GOP in 2010 and 2012! And many more added once it becomes widespread knowledge around the nation. I will do my best to spread the word.
yeah.. hmm. I thinking.. hmm. YUP!!! There's a word for this.. It's called EXTORTION and, you guessed it, it's illegal!
So is voting multiple times and using dead people's names - but the Daley Mafia in Chicago do it every election - and obummer learned from his organized crime masters well. When you OWN the Government, nothing is 'illegal'........
The fix is in - they either bought or intimidated Nelson. The HealthScare passed the Senate. Reid was crowing about having done deals with many states - this is the most corrupt administration ever. Business in DC as usual.....
Obama: "What's your job, Nelson?" Nelson: "To do whatever you tell me, drill sergeant!" Other awesome Gump quotes found here: http://equotes.wetpaint.com/page/Forest+Gump+Quotes
Health Care Deals - Unconstitutional?<!-- google_ad_section_end --> <HR style="COLOR: #ffffff; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff" SIZE=1 itxtvisited="1"> <!-- / icon and title --><!-- message --> <!-- google_ad_section_start -->http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_health_care_deal_states Seems like the deal Ben Nelson made for Nebraska is coming under some scrutiny. The top prosecutors in seven states are probing the constitutionality of a political deal that cut a funding break for Nebraska in order to pass a federal health care reform bill, South Carolina's attorney general said Tuesday. Attorney General Henry McMaster said he and his counterparts in Alabama, Colorado, Michigan, North Dakota, Texas and Washington state — all Republicans — are jointly taking a look at the deal they've dubbed the "Nebraska compromise." "The Nebraska compromise, which permanently exempts Nebraska from paying Medicaid costs that Texas and all other 49 states must pay, may violate the United States Constitution — as well as other provisions of federal law," Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott said. Nebraska wasn't alone in getting Medicaid breaks. Vermont, Louisiana and Massachusetts also got help with their programs. Well, Louisiana already got $300 million guaranteed for disaster reliefe - i.e. Katrina, so why not belly up to the trough again. And we all know Massachusetts got special treatment because of Ted.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
