NBC states there is an improvement in the job market. It is reported that age 55 and over have the lowest unemployment rate - a positive spin on a negative report. It just means that retirements are being delayed and retirees are returning to work, usually at a vastly reduced rate of pay, just to be able to afford the cost of living. http://lifeinc.today.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/11/10625396-older-workers-seeing-biggest-job-gains
I don't know.. maybe it's because experience and work ethic actually mean something? Yeah.. I know.. I've just made a pretty sweeping statement about the younger crowd, including my generation (X). It's been pretty clear to me that Gen-Y is ****ing hopeless.
I agree you find very few yonger people willing to work and when they do they want top pay. I am in my late 30's and have done some side jobs to make a little extra and have worked with older guys in their 50's,60's and even one 70 year old man that worked me in the ground. While working with these guys I seen young healthy guys come and go I call them doll fingers, you know soft hand no calises or dirt stains. My grandpa always told me when you shake a mans hand if he dont have any calises from work the man is no good. Through life I have found truth in that statment.
Oh, well, I definitely have doll fingers but it's because I did my time to get OUT of those kinds of back breaking jobs. I used to go by that litmus test as well until computers made me shift my logic on that to include "If ye know nothing of the qwerty, ye know nothing"
