On the subject of militias

I was watching a YouTube video by Colion Noir, in which he pointed out what should have been obvious, but which I and probably many people on the Right have not really thought about: the formation of militias as the 2nd Amendment directly addresses.
Specifically, the text of the 2nd Amendment states 'A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state...' And so forth. The Founders knew their stuff, not least because citizen militias had played no small role in our own war of independence.
Now, I do not take the subject of militias lightly. Such a thing could likely go horribly wrong. As stated in another thread I started, the one in which I asked people if they thought a civil war was likely, there would be the distinct possibility of destroying our existing democratically elected representative government, as well as the loss of our rights and freedoms.
But then I look at the images of the streets of my home city of NYC and wonder. I hear the groups of New Yorkers at their impromptu press conferences expressing their anger not at the destruction of New York which their own political views have brought about, but at Mamdani daring to suggest that they themselves should pay some of the taxes that would finance the freebees they want. In other words, they've learned nothing, they still want Marxism, and apparently have no problem with Sharia.
Meaning they would vote for the same thing again. What do you do in that situation? If militias, comprised of citizens wanting to restore, you know, America, to the city of New York, arrived on scene, who exactly would they shoot at? The voters are not armed combatants, and as appalling as are the things and people they voted for, they did, after all, use the existing system to put it in place.
I have a fantasy about armed groups of citizens non-violently removing Mamdani and his appointed cabinet monsters from office, like the one who said the other day "We need to elect more communists." But that wouldn't happen. The NYPD, of whom I am a great supporter, in doing their job, would put themselves in between said citizens and the elected officials, and that would get very messy.
So, even if you think that, at this time, and in select locales, the forming of militias could do some good and might be necessary, the question remains: Who, exactly, in an armed conflict, would the militia members shoot at?

 

Interesting question,, but I suppose,, since the NYC folks want that socialist lifestyle,, I guess if they tried bringing it into a non socialist society ,,, and trying to force it onto the non socialist societies ,,, then I guess that would be the folks risking their lives.

Bruh, What you need is a very long cable wrapped around new York and a fleet of tugboats towing that crap hole a couple hundred miles out to sea. Problem solved.

 

I feel you, mon. Even though NYC is my home town. I was actually remembering the 700 foot Wall from Game of Thrones and thinking we should build one around Manhattan. And Chicago, too.
The thing is, I am not willing to surrender this once great and unique city to the loser enemies that have destroyed it. For the present, the question is how do we politically geld the New Yorkers who voted for Marxism and Sharia so that they no longer have input into the system.

 

I have observed a few times here in the US when citizens have formed militias. I was even offered a commission by the largest militia in my state. From my observations, they usually go 'bad'.

Two years ago, a small group bought rural land and were building a rifle range, the leader made press releases about their militia, and immediately, it began discussions in our state legislature. The state passed a law and that property become state-owner land.

a 2024 Maine law (LD 2130) targets training camps intended to cause civil disorder. It is illegal to teach, train, or assemble to practice using firearms or explosives for violent, unauthorized purposes.

 

That's why we use uniforms and flags. Do THEY have a different uniform or flag? If the answer is yes, then shoot them!

 

NYC made their bed and now they can lay in it. I recommend you bail out instead of riding the crashing vehicle into the ground.
