I have just completed a move and have finally had the chance to look over some technical gear I've been dragging around for the past few years. Each of these 3.5" Desktop HDDs is IDE not SATA so it's connected by the wide ribbon cable. Each has been scrubbed using a program called dban Darik's Boot And Nuke | Hard Drive Disk Wipe and Data Clearing and it takes an average of 36 hours per disk to wipe them. My security and yours... I currently have: 1 80 GB Maxtor 1 120 GB Maxtor 1 500 GB Maxtor None have had any problems- I just upgraded my network storage solution to a 4 TB NAS system. Let me know if you can use them. I have some SATA drives I need to explore before I wipe them and I'll have them up later.
I could use the 120gb. Built a computer for the wife on the TV so she would STOP using my hard-drive space to store those old 30 and 40's movies she likes.
I always said when I got married NO MORE Moves! Had too many as a kid growing up. Now got to much STUFF!!
